As the product's sole designer, I redesigned CHEQ's marketing-security dashboard around complex filtering, threat data, and real-time blocking, and created its first design system from scratch.

The problem
The Paid Marketing dashboard existed, but it wasn't doing its job:
Core challenge
Filtering was the heart of the redesign. The PRD called for eleven interconnected filters, each multi-select with its own searchable list.
The hard part was that they all affected each other and the whole dashboard at once — so it had to stay powerful, but still be easy to understand and use.

I explored three directions before landing on the final one.
Draft 1 — The existing filters bar
It couldn't hold eleven filters, and there was no room for each filter's nested settings.

Nested settings for each filter and how they affect each other were confusing.
Draft 3 — Pop Up · The winning direction
Each filter expands in place to reveal its nested options and searchable list, with a running count of what's selected, so even a complex, multi-level filter stays easy to read and control. This became the final design and was later added to the design system as a new component.
Making data legible
The new dashboard needed to indicate both high-level threat groups insights and detailed breakdowns of specific threat types. Users had difficulty understanding relationships between groups and types, so my goal was to design widgets that communicate hierarchy and prioritize key insights.
Some exploration I tried to show the relation between threat groups and types.
The winning option pairs the groups and types in two linked widgets that share one color language, so the hierarchy reads instantly and users can drill into any type in place.
The outcome
Every widget got the data visualization that fit it best, so each answered its question at a glance. I solved the color challenges with one consistent color language across the dashboard, keeping threat groups and types readable and connected — then handed it off with components, states, the filter flow, and multiple resolutions.
